ABOUT SOPHIE SCHLEICHER

Sophie Schleicher is a folk singer and Morris dancer based Denver, Colorado. In 2016, they started their YouTube channel Sunday Sea Songs as a personal project to explore their interest in the vast and varied body of maritime music. Their debut album of the same name was released in November of 2022 and is a bit of a first pancake, but it has some nice moments. You can listen below or on Bandcamp.
While songs of the sea still hold their heart, they've since begun dabbling in the broader world of folk, with a particular interest in English songs and tunes. When not singing, Sophie manages a music school, makes and plays the rhythm bones, writes the occasional folk review, and is attempting to become a squeezeboxer with varying degrees of success.
You can catch them dancing with Maroon Bells Morris and Breathless in Berthoud. They also run a folk singaround in Aurora, CO every third Saturday - come sing with us! More information on the Folk Singaround tab.

The Album
"It is, however, Sophie's unadorned voice, sometimes double tracked for harmonies, that makes this album shine [...] Sophie's voice and her musical choices deliver a creditable debut album and I think could easily migrate into non-maritime folk singing to all our benefit."
- Folk London Magazine
Feel free to toss me a few bucks for the album if you like, but I've made it available for free download below. I'd rather you donate to help out our neighbors here in Denver instead.
(the album is also available on Bandcamp)
